Colee Hammock is named after an engineer James Louis Colee and the Hammock trees in the neighborhood. Colee worked for Mary Brickell who was the original owner of the land. There are many areas to Colee Hammock and certain rules for certain areas. Some don't allow high rises and building over a certain height. This is to protect the old homes and the views.
